This 37 foot section of forged fencing is part of a commission that included driveway, pedestrian, and service drive gates. Three 6' x 6' grill panels and three additional 12' fencing sections. All the work was assembled using traditional methods, ie. mortice and tenons, riviting and slitting and drifting. The middle horizontal bar is 3/4" round passing through 3/4" square bars which were heated in a coal forge and then a 3/4" round hold was slit and drifted through them. The bottom bar is 3/4" by 1" and had 1/2" round holes slit and drifted to accept a 1/2" tenon that was forged on the end of the 3/4" square vertical bars. All material used is solid bar stock.
